Position Overview

Responsible for ensuring accurate and consistent development and representation of customer artwork from project inception to print production. Utilize your technical problem-solving skills in the development of pre-press layouts and high-quality digital files that follow customer specifications and internal workflow. Primary responsibilities include preparing and maintaining digital and physical files, ordering flexographic printing plates, initiating frequent communication directly with customers, vendors, and other internal departments. Please note this is NOT a packaging design position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers in the creation, evaluation, and approval of content and artwork files
  • Support the production team with technical problem solving in the development of pre-press plate layouts
  • Must be comfortable creating and modifying raw artwork files and dielines to produce pre-press ready files
  • Work with plate-maker to obtain proofs and ensure accuracy; manage internal and external proofing process
  • Provide prompt and courteous communication with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Process invoices and purchase orders for Accounting
  • Manage and maintain production art archives and accurate records
  • Additional requests may include creating or modifying salessupport documents, presentation files, digital ads, etc.
  • Position may expand into marketing related activities (e.g. social media campaign development, design of branded communication, and website maintenance)

Skills & Requirements

  • Knowledge of flexographic printing and production layout design (print and digital)
  • Thorough understanding of digital file formats (.ai, .pdf, .tiff, .eps, etc.) from both Mac and PC
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Premiere Pro and After Effects a plus
  • Working knowledge in MS Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and able to effectively and professionally communicate with vendors, suppliers, and co-workers at all levels
  • Knowledge of DSLR photography/video, data visualization, SEO, copywriting is a plus
  • Two years’ education in graphic design, visual communication, or related. 1-year of work experience, with 1 year of print production experience
